A handcrafted clay pineapple from Tangancícuaro, Michoacán, shaped and finished using traditional techniques passed down through generations. The pineapple, long associated with hospitality, is interpreted here in a warm beige glaze that highlights both the craftsmanship and sculptural form of the piece.
Each pineapple is sculpted, baked, hand-painted, and glazed entirely by hand, a process that takes approximately three months from start to finish. The surface is worked individually by the artisan, creating subtle variation in tone and texture as the glaze reacts to the kiln during firing.
The crown, surface decoration, and glazing details vary from artist to artist, making every pineapple unique. Light areas may show natural tonal shifts or markings from the firing process.
