Pair of Vintage Brighton Pavilion Style Octagonal Bamboo Side Tables
Pair of Vintage Brighton Pavilion Style Octagonal Bamboo Side Tables
A handsome pair of vintage octagonal bamboo side tables in the Brighton Pavilion style, each with a woven cane top and beautifully constructed bamboo framework.
The octagonal form is defined by layered bamboo rails, slender spindle detailing, and architectural supports that give the tables an airy but substantial presence. The natural bamboo has developed a warm patina, while the woven cane tops add another layer of texture and craftsmanship.
The term Brighton Pavilion style refers to the Chinese-inspired decorative language associated with the Royal Pavilion in Brighton, where Regency interiors incorporated Chinese motifs, export furnishings, and bamboo-inspired furniture. These tables carry that influence through their geometric form, bamboo construction, and decorative fretwork-like detailing.
