An exceptionally chic vintage set of eight hand-carved wood fruits, individually wrapped in thin brass-toned metal and finished with tiny pin-nailed seams.
The group includes three curved bananas alongside a mix of elongated and oval fruit forms, each with its own hand-worked surface, subtle irregularities, and beautifully aged patina. The metal has mellowed over time into varied tones of gold, bronze, and darker oxidation, giving the set wonderful depth and character.
Collected together, they have fantastic sculptural presence. They would look especially good piled into a vintage pencil reed and brass bowl, where the warm metals and organic forms play beautifully against one another.
