Vintage Handmade Leather Hippo Footstool
Vintage Handmade Leather Hippo Footstool
A vintage handmade leather hippo footstool, sourced in England, with a generous sculptural form, hand-stitched surface, and warm tan-brown leather finish.
Sturdy in construction and substantial in scale, the piece is designed in the form of a hippopotamus and can be used as a low stool, footstool, or decorative animal object. The rounded body, short legs, and expressive face give it wonderful character, while the hand-stitched leather adds warmth, texture, and craftsmanship.
Each piece is handmade, and subtle variation is part of its appeal. Light rubs, small marks, leather imperfections, slight irregularities, and variation in the stitching are consistent with the hand-crafted nature of the object.
